Hawker Hall

Since opening in late 2015, Hawker Hall has brought the vibrant street-food culture of Singapore, Malaysia and other South East Asian countries to Chapel St. With pumping, up beat music and the sound of chatter from cheerful customers the atmosphere matches the décor and food, creating a lively ambience.

The food and beer hall focuses on food and drink that compliments each other and with 18 taps on site, there are an array of options to choose from. However you can’t go past the house brand Shiki, as it’s easy drinking style is appropriate with the cuisine. It comes brewed as a lager, pale ale and white ale. Not a fan of beer? No stress there are plenty of refreshing and pleasant cocktails also on the menu to consider.

Now, the important bit, how good is the food? Short answer.. very good. There is a wide variety to choose from including beer food options, dumplings, noodles, curries, salads and a whole lot more. The pork dumplings are hard to avoid.. Overall the upbeat feel is further added to by the effective, friendly and quick service. Hawker Hall is a great option for eating with a group of friends, you can order a selection of different dishes and share them as one comes after the other. The only potential downside is there is no bookings so depending on the time of day you are heading in you could have a wait but, of course that’s a good sign!
